As he had lived his life by associating with blacks, in death Newton did not play by the established rules. He left instructions for his remains to be buried in his cemetery that contains blacks including Rachel, the mother of five of his children. Newton Knight Cemetery is located in Jasper County (see map) half way between Stringer and Soso, one mile west of the road.
